We recently had the opportunity to tour The Stonehurst, a stunning nine-acre wedding venue tucked away in Shadow Hills. The Stonehurst is as versatile as wedding venues get, with a greenhouse, a rustic barn, cactus garden, bungalow, and bamboo garden. Keep reading for our breakdown of the venue’s unique features!

The Barn

As you enter The Stonehurst, you’re greeted with a direct view of the barn. The barn was built in the early 1900s, and the reclaimed wood doors are framed with desert vegetation creating the perfect backdrop for a ceremony. Both the interior and exterior of the barn can accommodate up to 150 people for a seated ceremony. And, if you’re looking to host a reception, the barn can accommodate up to 80 people seated inside and 100 people outside. In addition to the cactus deck, we love that Stonehurst feels like a desert wedding just 30 minutes from Downtown Los Angeles.

The Cactus Garden + Deck

The Cactus Deck is adjacent to the barn and provides a feeling of being in Joshua Tree or Palm Springs. We also love how versatile the Cactus Deck is! A seated ceremony facing the rustic pepper tree and cactus garden can accommodate 175 people. One of our favorite uses of the space is hosting cocktail hour on the deck while we’re resetting the area in front of the barn for an alfresco reception. There is also space in the Cactus Garden for a stylish lounge setup to compliment cocktail hour or a picturesque photo opportunity!

The Greenhouse

Hands down, our favorite space at The Stonehurst is the Greenhouse as it’s such a stunning wedding venue! The Greenhouse boasts floor to ceiling glass windows, exposed brick walls, and vintage chandeliers. This space is a design dream with exposed ductwork and beams, allowing for ease hanging floral installations. Most importantly, the Greenhouse can accommodate a seated reception for 175 people with enough room for a dance floor.

The Bungalow

The Bungalow is the dedicated wedding suite at The Stonehurst. It’s perfect to use in your pre-wedding getting ready rituals in the large living space with windows overlooking the gardens. Further, the quaint Bungalow has two bedrooms, a full bath, and a mid-century furnished kitchen. We also love that it can be reserved as a wedding suite on the night of your wedding!
