We’ve seen glimpses of these 2020 wedding flower trends over the last year, but we’re expecting to see more of these in the year ahead.  In the past we’ve seen an abundance of bohemian floral designs and soft ethereal arrangements.  We’re so excited for the bold and vibrant details found in 2020 floral trends. Monochromatic Designs

For couples who want to opt for modern or bold statements at their wedding we recommend opting for monochromatic arrangements. This look is instantly eye catching, but just as gorgeous up close. The best way to add visual interest with this floral design is to mix up the size of the flowers used for each arrangement or use different shades of the same color to add dimension. We saw glimpses of this last year and are excited to see more of this trend in the year ahead.   

Deconstructed Arrangements

This blossoming trend is one of our favorites. Instead of the typical table arrangements this floral design has individual stems placed in bud vases or varying size and style. We love this because we can use a variety of different vessels to pair with your overall wedding design. You can even use a mix of statement flowers and smaller buds to create a visually impactful tabletop.

Bleached Greens

Some of our favorite floral designers have begun bleaching some of their greens for added dimension and visual interest. It pairs well with the aforementioned monochromatic designs and lush green arrangements alike! Think of it as an alternative to greens for a truly multi-dimensional floral design.

Sun Palms

Once you see this statement floral, you’ll be hooked! This look is so versatile – we’ve seen it in arrangements ranging from tropical to ethereal to bohemian. This fan palm can steal the show as a statement piece all on its own or can be subtly mixed in with other pieces for a show-stopping textured arrangement. And sun palms come in so many different colors they can easily match any array of color palettes.

Sustainable Arrangements

As you know, we’re passionate about sustainability which is why this is one trend we’re thrilled to see. We’ve seen more floral designers and couples alike shifting to make more conscious decisions about their flower arrangements. In the interest of sustainability, we work with many florists who commit to using local flowers from farms in Southern California.

One of our favorite florists, Fresh by Brandon speaks about his sustainable efforts in the following statement. “By committing to using as much local product as possible with each event, we can support our local growers and sellers, enjoy product that is super fresh, and minimize the carbon footprint of the event. Unfortunately, floral foam is a petroleum product that doesn’t completely breakdown, which leads to water contamination. The effects of the micro plastics when inhaled or used by florists is still largely unknown. Committing to foam free designs and educating our clients on ways to create stunning florals that are friendly for our environment is one way we help our clients make big memories on their day that they can feel good about, and so can we.”
